Technologies are boosting everyday in seconds and you will be able to see lots of applications available for designers or artists who inspire to work with digital tools. The digital design tools available now a days are so simple tools that can create your dreams more realistic in just few minutes.

The graphic attached here was created using Google Sketchup and Vue6. It took just 1 hour to model the UFO using Google Sketchup and 30 minutes to render the scene with Vue 6 to produce a 3D rendered image.

There are other similar softwares available and is affordable. I will write more about these softwares later.

Lets see the features in Google Sketchup and how you can use Vue6 to generate realistic images.

GOOGLE SKETCHUP

Google Sketchup is a good start for those designers who needs a simple tool just to model their objects in 3D space without spending much time. Yes, Google Sketchup can save you a lot of time. It can be used to create, modify and share 3D models without spending too much time to learn from the manual and getting the job done easily. Google Sketchup provides a free version and a commercial version for professional users.

Even the most powerful tool is useless if you can’t figure out how to make it work. Most people get rolling with SketchUp in a couple of hours. Dozens of video tutorials, an extensive Help Center and live training classes mean that anyone who wants to make 3D models with SketchUp, can.

Instead of making you type coordinates, SketchUp has an advanced guidance system of colors, lines and text hints that help you keep track of where you are and what you’re doing. And just like the tools you use in real life, each of SketchUp’s small number of tools does a multitude of things. This makes it easier to learn, easier to use and (most importantly) easier to remember how to use.

It came to a point that as Sketchup is one of the best modeling tool for beginners however the Sketchup application do not support realistic rendering process as other professional 3D application provides. However this is not considered as a disadvantage, well you can export your models in to various file formats that can support variety of 3D rendering applications. Thinking of a rendering application, I have chosen Vue 6 to work best with Sketchup for beginners.

VUE 6 Easel

Vue 6 Easel is the ideal tool for beginers who want to jump start with 3D scenery. The user interface is easy-to-use with feature set and heaps of content to get started instantly, Vue 6 Easel will let you create breathtaking realistic images and animations of your own 3D worlds within minutes as mentioned in their website but for me as for a user, my first time using the application took me almost two days to learn how to use special features. However learning the concepts going through forums, I have realized that this is the most easiest rendering tool you could ever have with your 3D projects.

As you become more familiar with the basics of 3D, you can begin customizing the sets and, later, create your own, entirely new compositions, and this is where the real artist in you will take the power. In addition, because it is based on a standard concept and interface layout, Vue 6 Easel will let you grow in 3D proficiency from a solid technical background.
